Many traditional investment funds as well as private wealth and equity funds, property funds and other alternative investment funds now consider the Bahamas to be the jurisdiction of choice, since the legislation provides for flexible options yet complying with stringent international standards. By capitalizing on its international reputation the Bahamas have built an impressive portfolio of private and publicly listed funds, investing in a diverse range of asset classes throughout the world.

Under the Bahamas’ Investment Fund Act, 2019, there are four classes of investment funds.

•  Smart Fund
•  Standard Fund
•  Master Fund
